Well, while it IS a nice display...it is not the end all of CRT's....

I have been using a 3 year old P1110 Trinitron 21"...very nice display, but big and HEAVY...sucks going to lans and what not...

I got my 19" LCD in today...and have been playing with it, tweaking, for a few hours now. Observations..

product link: http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=MJ19ESKB

1. text, very crisp, very nice, easy to read. I am getting older (35) and almost in need of glasses, so this is a nice bonus.

2. colors...adequate for a person that does not do digital art or such....definitely not as good as a clean CRT.

3. gaming...good...not great...still some ghosting compared to a good 21" CRT. Anyone that can't see the slower response (even at 8ms) is...blind...but not bad, not bad at all, especially compared to my last LCD which was a 19" Sceptre 25ms model...

4. blacks well, they aren't true black like a CRT. Due to the backlighting, there IS minor bleedthrough, no if's and's or but's about it. Livable though as long as you aren't nit picking...

5. Easy to move and carry. a BIG plus for LAN's...it will be nice at Q-Con this year....

I am keeping my 21" as a backup/secondary display....LCD's have gotten MUCH better....but they ain't there yet... :p

Mine will be here within a few hours... I can't wait! I am currently using a Compaq MV740 from an old system, so the 915N is going to be awesome!

You will like it for sure, I am enjoying it as well....still ALOT better than my last 19" LCD....

...not to mention that displays are some of the most subjective things around, kinda like v-sync wars...

The Samsung 930 is suppossed to be even better ... several threads here about it.

haha very nice, btw the reflection off your sff scared me for a minute haha, I thought I was seeing things when I saw a baby reflection

My 7 month old daughter was in her chair in front of my desk....I did not notice her reflection until after I posted the pic :p

...all the other crap under the desk shelves is a VCR/DVD player combo...and my cable tv box....I record tv shows, old vhs, and make DVD's out of them. Not to mention the occasional DVD "home backup". There is also another pc to the left of the desk that does testing duties for customer parts and what not, plus a wireless keyboard and mouse I use from the bed....

haha reminds me of my neiphew when he was 5 asking if he can make a charcter on my Everquest account, i shed a tear that day  and now he has a ps2/gamecube/nintendo handheld thing, and a computer and 20 inch tv all in his room  wish i was him!............... and i have a question, that matrix background, is that a screensaver or background? if its a screensaver mind linking? or send to me over Yahoo/Aim/MSN? eaither way is fine :) ty

edit: what kinda SFF system is that? and thats a cool skin, mad props for loveage of your children ;)

The link to that screensaver is: http://www.kellysoftware.com/ssaver/Matrix_ks.asp

And I have a Soltek rig...S754...it has 2 CDROM bays...which is why I chose that model over a comparable Shuttle rig...

...and no skins on the SFF, that's a reflection of my 7 month old daughter in the faceplate of the rig...

This is my first LCD and for the last 5 years, I have been playing games on a CRT. I love it, but the first time I played CS: S on it, I got a killer headache. It doesn't seem to affect me anymore after using it for a few days.

I did find 2 dead pixels right by each other in the bottom right corner of the screen, but I never notice them.

Yeah, I am getting him a 17" LCD next week, it will sit further back as well and give some space.
