The fellas over at SSD Review say that, even though it is expensive, the Samsung 845DC PRO SSD is a great drive. If you are in the market for a new enterprise SATA SSD, this might be what you are looking for.

As an enterprise reviewer, I expected the normal 6-12 month wait before the 850 PRO would spawn an enterprise cousin, as we have seen with the Samsung SM843 and 845DC EVO. That 12 month wait was closer to 12 minutes as Samsung surprised all in attendance with their announcement of the 845DC PRO, alongside the 850 PRO.

Whatever Samsung =) SSD drives might be all the rage right now but not at those prices

Samsung hinted at $1.50-$2.00/GB at the SSD Summit, actual pricing is a bit higher. The 400GB model comes in at $960, with the 800GB costing $1830

you know how many games you could buy on a steam sale and not play for $1,830.00 =)

This is an enterprise drive?

Why are you mentioning games, if you want games get the 850, which is still expensive but much cheaper.
 
I would like to see a side-by-side comparison to the 850 Pro. This way you could see whether the addition of capacitors really leads to lower latencies by deferring NAND writes or if they are just there because "enterprise drives have to have them".
 
The brand new Intel DC P3600 PCI-E 800GB looks much more tempting in my book than this old school SATA-thingy. ;)

I really don't know, his post has been removed and no idea why. I just like the 850pro and even though its more expensive now it should outlive anything else in your PC making it the most cost effective piece of equipment you could buy.

But get what you want, if money is no big deal to you then more power to ya! :D I'd probably go for the P3600 if I had the money :cool:
