For those of you in the market for a new solid state drive, there is a review of the Samsung 840 Series SSD at Hexus today. You can see our recent evaluation of this drive here.

Priced at £140 for a 250GB model and therefore offering a genuine alternative to the glut of SandForce-powered drives on the market, we believe the 840 Series to be a reasonable choice for users requiring capacity on a relative budget.

Sounds like a pretty good SSD.

Would have been more helpful, if you had translated the price into US Dollars?

This is the 840 non pro. Not the same drive that you guys reviewed.

Pwoz is right, there is a big difference between the 840 and 840 Pro. Someone should fix that.

Yeah the vanilla 840 I wouldn't feel comfortable using right now, it uses TLC flash, that stuff they put in keychains. The 840Pro is still using MLC so I'd say it's the true successor to the 830 line, just wish the price wasn't so high.

Well, I read the review, and the only prices I saw didn't have any US $ signs on them?

What I saw appeared to the British pound signs, which should be more than a US dollar, but I don't know precisely what that exchange rate is?
