Samsung 830 Speed Problems

Recently got an 830 SSD 120gb, and after benchmarking i realized i have a problem.

The write speeds are atrocious and the 4k reads are as well. The drive is on a Sata 6G connection. Intel RST drivers are installed, the drive has garbage collection on. The firmware installed is the default, i couldn't find any updated versions. I don't know what could be causing this.

Please post your Motherboard, BIOS, SATA Port Number connected, OS Type and Version, Antivirus type?

When you said port 1, do you mean SATA6G_1 (The grey colored ports) or SATA6GE_1 (The Blue Ports, closest to the power connector). If it is the latter, that is the marvell port and has all sorts of issues. Make sure it is the Grey Port SATA6_1. Also, can you post a HDtune screenshot to see if you are getting sawtooth writes.
 
Me and another have been experiencing write endurance problems with our 830's, it's an ongoing issue that's currently being discussed on the XS forums.

That's not endurance problem, in this case, problem is write caching. If it was endurance problem, even read speeds would be lower.

I encountered that same symptom when I bought my 830 and was playing with it. Retested it yesterday to confirm. Enable that option, and don't always blindly trust all "tweaks" you find around internet ;)

BINGO! That was it. Turned it on, and write speed jumped up to where it should be. Thank you so much!
