Hey, I was looking for a decent 17" monitor for less than $400.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience, specifically, with the Samsung 712N. It's at Best Buy right now for $380 with two mail-in rebates ($50 and $30).

It looks decent -- 12ms response and 600:1 contrast ratio. Does anyone have any experience with this monitor? How does it perform?

Even though I'll have a dual setup with a CRT, the LCD will be my gaming monitor because the CRT is tiny. :(
 
Product pictures, specifications, everything make it seem exactly the same as the 710N, which is a good monitor, albeit analog. Literally, the only difference in the descriptions is the 712N changes to 710N. The 710N was released at exactly the same time, and they both have similar price tags.
 
710N is, so I would assume this one is as well. However, do remember that this is analog only.
