Where is a good place to grab a couple of 244t's.. Most places I look do not have any in stock. Anyone know about their availability problems?

dont buy them because they are absolute garbage. the input lag makes them completely unusable, even on the desktop.

I had one. It was the biggest waist of $1300 I could think of. After I set the monitor up I quit using my computer for a week. I didn't know what was making it so unappealing until I discovered that the input lag was basically like torture. I sent it back immediatly (taking a big hit with 15% restocking.) It was the single biggest purchase mistake I have ever made, and I owned a sega 32x!!!

I personally think anything that costs that much and performs that poorly is garbage.

I think you are ultra sensitive or have a driver conflict somewhere that is causing your issue, as I have read several reviews and they all give it glowing marks. The reviewer at Trusted Reviews even played fps games using a 2000dpi mouse and found no lag whatsoever. This seems to be the best monitor on the market

I know the reviewer at Trusted personally, and generally he knows what he is talking about, but I think he missed this one. I had the 244T in a little while back without being aware of the input lag problem and I reviewed it for a certain print publication. And I must admit I missed the input lag issue, simply because it wasn't something I was looking out for. I got the exact same unit returned to me so I could have another look. And sure enough, it was obvious when I was looking out for it it. The 244T has input lag. It's not a driver issue, a setup issue, or any other issue except for an severe and unavoidable issue with the monitor itself.

Thank god someone has the balls to admit they were wrong about this. There is absolute proof in several posts and tests that I have done myself that shows this input lag is a reality.

I have been building systems and working with computers for 15 years. I don't have a driver or setup issue. You really think I would send back a $1300 monitor without being sure? I have 7 PCs at home and tested it on 5 of them. I also did side by side comparisons with the 2405. I took hundreds of pictures using a highspeed digital SLR camera that shows the lag. I certainly didn't want to send the damn monitor back and take that 15% restocking fee. I wanted to find a configuration issue that was causing it. I tried everything I could think of and ran the tests to prove it. The lag exists and it is a monitor issue.

I am also not "hyper-sensitive" because although the 2405 has input lag, I do not notice it nearly as much. The fact is that the 244t has the most input delay of any monitor tested thus far. Do some research, read the threads and see how many people made the same $1300 mistake. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but alot of reviewers don't know what the hell they are talking about. Just because some joker from some website thinks this is a great monitor does not mean it is. I am just trying to prevent anyone else from having to send this POS LCD back. Its just to expensive to suffer from such terrible performance flaws.

This is absurd. If the input lag was an issue then you would have noticed it at the time - the fact that you didn't shows that it isn't.

I appreciate what you are saying, and I fully sympathise, but here's an explanation: You'll find that most reviewers go through a routine with any new monitor. That tends to mean you're very focused on each individual aspect in turn as you cycle through your assessment. If something falls outside your list of assessment, well, it is possible to miss a tricky issue like input lag. It's a weird one, it's a rather subtle problem if you're not looking out for it, but very obvious if you are. It's likely that most reviewers would pick up on it with long term. But deadlines are deadlines, and if you have to turn a review around in a day or two, this is exactly the sort of thing that gets missed. Of course, checking for input lag will now be a standard part of my (and I would guess other's) review criteria.

I'd also note that I'm rather worried that the 2407 will have an input lag problem since it uses a newer PVA Samsung panel. TBH, I'd be surprised if it wasnt pretty laggy.

These new samsung panels are definitely excellent. The colors, contrast, and brightness are the best yet and on sucha huge panel simply amazing.

However, this input problem definitely is a HUGE issue. It's not a driver issue if multiple people who are using the screen are having the problem. Like I have said in my Acer 24" review, which is the exact same screen, it is like using a bad wireless mouse with a lot of interference. Try to do a circle on the desktop or move from one corner of a screen to another, marking precise points that you want to hit and most definitely it will not be as accurate as you would want.

Bring that issue into games, and you will see a problem. I returned my Acer 24" and bought an Apple Cinema 23" yesterday and this definitely does not have that input lag problem.

Colors, brightness, contrast, even ghosting is the best on the Samsung panels. Unfortunately it is useless if your basic input to the system, the mouse, is not going where you want it to.

All these tests were done with a Microsoft Laser mouse 6000, and this is the most accurate mouse I've used and I've tried everything.
