*** Short Version of a Long Story ***

Moving into a new house in two months.
The 2 x Samsung 204BW I have will be moved to inside my Server Racks.

Leaving me with just my Samsung 243T on my Primary System.
It is getting older in age but still work great and is in almost perfect condition.

Samsung 243T SPECIFICATIONS:
Screen size: 24"
Brightness: 300 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio: 500:1
Viewing Angle: 170°/170°
Interface: Analog/DVI
Resolution: 1920x1200
Pixel Pitch: 0.270mm
Response Time: 25ms
Power Draw: 90W
Dimensions: 23x20x10"

Should I continue to use this monitor until it dies or should I upgrade to a newer model?

Depends. What do you use your monitor for and what is your upgrade budget? This model uses a PVA panel. So obviously a general consumer/gamer TN panel would be a downgrade. That response time is slow by today's standards, so that's probably the biggest immediate problem area I see. However if you don't game or watch video, that probably isn't an issue.

The 243T has a panel with very nice image quality. Samsung PVA panels of that vintage actually have the best image quality among all the Samsung panels that I've seen (better than the latest ones in my opinion). Text is not quite as sharp on the newer Samsung PVA panels. Also, the 243T panel had a clearer coating than the newer panels which are a little grainy.

The main problem that I have with the 243T is that the arm holding the panel is poorly designed, and the panel tends not to stay in position and tilt down. Also, the panel height adjustment release button on all the 243T monitors that I've had got stuck, so it became impossible to release the panel from its locked bottom height position.

It depends on what you want. If you want less input lag, then its probably time to upgrade to something faster. However if you're happy with your image quality for now, then keep it.

First off, many thanks for your opinions so far ... better to ask people who know more about the displays then I personally do ...

I only game about 1 hour a month so the input lag I have not even noticed.
I do really like the image quality on the monitor.

I have noticed it is starting to "sag' a little of the years.
I was thinking of purchasing this product to mount it on the wall

According to the specs it is 501mm which is around 20 inches so it should be hidden behind the monitor well.
I have never wall mounted a monitor so i am hoping a product like that will work well.

You could wall mount it. I think I'd prefer a monitor arm. Cos with a wall mount you can't really adjust the height without drilling more holes in your wall.
