I was wondering if other 215TW owners are experiencing the DVI issue...
Maybe its just me, but my DVI port doesn't seem to work.

I bought two cables, none of them work, a single link cable and a dual link cable...
Also bought a DVI-VGA adpater to make sure that my DVI output on my video card works...but no luck...

Anyone have a similar experience?
Should I risk going through Samsung warranty and getting a new monitor?
I would hate to exchange it and get a dead pixel...

Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks in advanced!

I just recently built a computer for a customer using the 215TW connected by DVI to an XFX 7900GS and not having any issues at all.

What video card are you using and did you try hooking up another monitor to confirm that the issue is only with the 215TW?

Tell me the whole situation, is this a new computer? a new monitor? a new video card? What's going on?

Thanks for the reply.
This is an old computer about 3 years old, with a FX5200 video card.
The monitor is new.

I bought the DVI-VGA adapter and it works with that, but when I connect the DVI cable to the monitor and to the video card, nothing works...

Could it be my video card? But I don't think so cuz when I use that adapter it works...

Thanks again.

try turning the monitor off and on with the power swtich at the back of the unit.. not the one in the front.. some times i get a problem with my component connection with a 360 where nothing displays. when i turn it off and on it works again.

Thanks for the reply.

Yea I tried that and tried everything...
I am just wondering is the DVI really worth risking the warranty from Samsung?

I would hate to get a unit with a dead pixel or something of that nature...

I don't know why my DVI doesn't work...could it be an old video card? But when I hook up my monitor via the VGA-DVI adapter to my video card's DVI out, I get picture.

Just when I hook up a cable to the DVI in of the monitor, I get no picture...just a blank screen.

Thanks again.

It sounds like you're pretty sure something is wrong with the dvi port. Give Samsung a call and explain to them the problem. Tell them you've tried everything and it just doesn't seem to work. Ask for an RMA. They'll ask for your credit card so they can cross-ship you a brand new monitor within a day or two and then you ship yours back with the enclosed prepaid ups label. I did this once and it was effortless. My 910MP had some problems and they shipped me new one in no time and it was superb. They test them before they ship so you will not encounter that same problem.

Another suggestion is maybe borrowing a friends card and using that. Maybe it has something to do with your video card with the signal getting lost. If all is lost do what I said above. It's VERY simple. They'll troubleshoot you if all fails they'll send you a brand new monitor - yes BRAND new, not refurbed. So no need to worry about getting another dvi port issue!

Hmmmm.....I have a 215tw and have no problems with dvi. Isn't there a 'source' button on the front panel. That is a toggle between the various inputs including digital and analog. Yours needs to display 'digital' at the very top when it receives the input. I would imagine though that is one of the first things you checked.

Yea I think I am going to go ahead with the RMA.
And if it doesn't work then, that means my video card is faulty.
Which will give me an excuse to build a new computer lol.

Hopefully the new monitor will be flawless.

Thanks everyone.

I had the same problem with my 215TW, except that I got half a second of picture before it just went black. No OSD, power light lit, monitor controls do nothing.

I sent it back. Hope you get on ok.
