Narrowing down the choices to the 2 above.

I originally had the NEC on the list, but I finally saw one today and the glare and price were deal breakers for me.

So....Should I go for the superior PVA of the 215TW or the extra inch of the 225BW?

Will be used for a lot of FPS games and Office/Web.

input is no concern at all for me.

**oh yeah....I've been reading that native 1680 x 1050 looks bad on 22". any truth to that?

Thanks!

I would go 225BW. I have it and love it.

The resolution looks great and the colors do too. There is slight backlight bleed but it isn't bad.

Thanks!

I don't think the bleeding willl be that big an issue for me. I've seen some DELL's with bleeding that can't be anyworse than what's being reported for the Sammys. :D

I see the 225BW is still US$ 100 cheapere than the 215TW.

I've got 2 weeks to decide, so your comments are most welcome.

For $100 cheaper, I'd go for the 225BW. It has an inferior panel to the 215TW, but for your purpose of only gaming + web + office, its sufficient. Also, heard that the 215TW has significant input lag, so that is a deal breaker for gaming.

I myself have a VA panel, and it pleases me to no end just knowing I have a non TN, but ultimately, I don't think I can really tell the diff in the colour quality between a good TN and a VA panel, its just to keep the geek inside me happy. :)

I have a 215tw and it's fantastic. I haven't noticed any "input lag" as of yet and I've had it for 2 months now. Got loads of inputs. HD looks stunning.

BUT, just FOR gaming/web surfing I'd get that extra inch. If you're into photo editing or really need good picture/color reproduction then def get the 215tw as it's amazing. My brother has the 2407 dell and we both think the samsung is a better overall monitor (not considering size).

If you're going to be using it for games, definitely get the 225BW over the 215TW. The 215TW has 55+ ms lag while the 225BW doesn't, and the 225BW will have less motion blur.

I really think you should give the Dell 2007WFP a try. If you end up with an S-IPS panel, it will have more vibrant colors and better viewing angles than those two, and you will have the best panel for the price. If you end up with an S-PVA panel, it'll be similar to the 215TW, but with less lag, so you really don't lose either way. If you don't like it, you could just return it.

I'm going to need to get a Dimension E520 from DELL anyways.

I was thinking of springing for a 2007WFP...but the whole panel lottery thing ticks me off. If I could be assured of getting an S-IPS...I Would consider, but I don't have the time (ie. patience) to keep returning till I get an S-IPS.

I think I'm just going to go ahead with the Sammy. its ~300 now at Frys.

Curiously.....I live in Vegas, and seems like the DELL 2007WFPs shipping out of here are S-IPS. :D
