Samsung 215TW Delay Question

Just curious, I've been using this display for a few months now and it's a beautiful display, and I noticed a slight delay soon as I started movig the mouse around, After coming from a sony trinitron crt lol (it drove me nuts for the first 2 weeks). This delay is pretty small and I've got used to it where I dont even feel it or notice it any more.

However Some games, especially like Rainbow Six 3 or Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. The input delay is increased tremendously, about 60-80 ms from a default windows delay of about 10-15. Another issue is games that have a hardware accelerated mouse, like world of warcraft for example, Dont have this problem. WoW is the same as windows for the most part (10-15ms input delay)

Another very odd thing, is in a shooter such a ghost recon, when I click the the left or right mouse button, the reaction is almost instant, or the 8ms native to the mornitor. Same with the keyboard.

So if the mouse clicking is instant, and the keyboard is instant, and mouse movement is 10-15ms in windows, what cuases the delay to jack up to 60-80 in some games????

I'm using an original blue Logitech MX518 mouse which I've had for about 2 years now.

This is a well known issue with the 215TW...just google or search this forum for "215TW input lag". I don't know if anyone has found a fix..
 
Its not the panel itself. Had insane input lag once I got mine, but once I hooked it up to my bsd box all that input lag vanished. Temp fix for me were to force refresh rate above 100hz in windows even thou the lcd still runs at 60. So from all that it seems its a vid card issue.
 
I agree, If I click my mouse and my gun fires 8MS later(you can see the flash and hear it from the speakers), exactly like the monitor should, and the keyboard does the same thing... why is it that only the MOVEMENT of the mouse is delayed, and the delay is increased while in games. I'm sure the monitor processes everything that comes from the computer on 8MS, so what is causing just the mouse movement alone to be delayed? software... hardware... maybe it's a windows thing, or the mouse isn't powerful enough?

If i were to hook up a CRT, the problem would be gone, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the lcd.. right?
 
I also have the exact same problem, everything is 8ms, the keyboard and the mouse clicking, when I play ghost recon or advanced warfighter the mouse movement is up to about 80ms which is out raageous, alot of other first persons are like this, in fact almost every one is to some degree, half life 2 and etc is around 40-50 ms delay, not sure why ghost recon has the highest out of these games.

I wonder if it could be the DVI output? maybe switching to the older style cable with the blue connector instead of the white one?
