Does anyone have backlight issues with their Samsung 213T?
I notice blotches top right and bottom left corner. This is the 2nd 213T i've seen it on, and wonder if it's just supposed to be there?
I only notice it with all the lights turned off against a black background, or in a game like Doom 3.
Is this normal?

To one degree or another all LCD screens leak some backlight artifacts. If you gently push in on the edges of the case near the screen you can actually create the problem.

I’ve found that if you loosen the case screws and gently tighten them more evenly then was done at the factory you can all but make the problem go away.

So far from what I’ve seen the 213T is among the best around for overall viewing. It’s worth the try to fix it if you’re very careful.

Luck

I ahve owned two and had zero issues with either. Honestly though , i never turned the light off and went black background. I dont see the point

You're the first that I've heard with quality issues with a Samsung 213T

Well it was just my way of testing the monitor. I did that with my Viewsonic. 0 backlight bleeding on the Viewsonic, so I wanted to see what the Samsung was like.

I don't have a black background set, but I do notice the white shine through in games. Dark games like Doom 3 and sometimes in HL 2, and it's kinda annoying.
I don't think they're going to let me do another exchange since this is the 2nd monitor.
So I either return it or suck it up and keep it even though I am unimpressed with the backlight bleed.

What do you think?
I really like the monitor, and prefer it over the Viewsonic, but this backlight shit irks me.

OIC then you notice it during normal use, If that is the case, she is defective. Believe it or not i order all my big monitors from Dell.. If the dont have it I dont buy it.their return policy is second to none

Hi, I have two 213t's now in a dual display. And there is no REAL noticeable bleed through. You do get a little of a glow coming through on an all black backgroun. Bu it is not noticeable to me unless I really concentrate on it and compare it to a monitor turned off. If it is really noticeable bring it back.

Hmm..
Well maybe my bleed is the same as yours...
If I have it set on a black background, yeah I can notice it, but it's not that bad.
If I am playing a dark game like Doom 3 then yes it is definitely noticeable.
If i'm just browsing, or doing shit in windows then no I don't notice it.
This forum uses a black background for the most part, and I don't notice any bleed on this page.
So is my problem a problem, or am I just overreacting? Am I expecting too much?
Are there any pictures around here of REAL backlight bleed problems so that I can compare? Or maybe you could take some pictures of the 'glow' from your Sammy's so I can compare...

Thanks.

I have a 213T and I get more backlight bleeding when it is a pure black screen on my 213T than on my older 15" viewsonic va520. Pretty much everything else on the 213T blows away the viewsonic though...

I think it is a known fault, but the 213T is still an amazing monitor and I can deal with it.
