samsung 213T problem...

My dad just bought 3 (yes 3) 213Ts for his office for stock market charts n' stuff...well, for some reason, when the monitors are connected to the DVI input you cannot adjust the contrast of brightness...is this a simple configuration problem? I am quite confused....

I am able to adjust these settings fine when the monitors are connected the the regulat VGA port.
 
on most monitors with DVI input contrast (and sometimes brightness) is disabled and cannot be adjusted.

what?? why? That sucks...

it looks better when using normal vga inputs with the brightness turned all the way up than it does in dvi with normal brightness...

You need to do a full calibration on your monitor. When you go totally digital most of that is done in software. I might add that to get proper black and white level and tint correction you will need to do that from within the monitor menu, then touch the rest up with the software, which should have been included with your monitor as well as your video card settings.
 
my 213t is plugged in through the dvi and i can change the brightness, but not the contrast

If you are using DVI remember your brightness and contrast controls are non-functional. To get true black and white your going to have to go into your controls and raise or lower all three colors which until you get good black should be changed equally. Once you get your gray scale set you can adjust tint using the individual colors controls on your monitor.

After that it’s all software for touch up.
