Samsung 193P Question

I just bought a new Samsung 193P monitor and am using an Asus 9280 Gforce 4200-based video card.

Although the monitor specs list 1280x1024 at both 60 and 75 HZ vertical as VESA supported refresh rates, it appears the driver only supports 60 Hz as a supported vertical refresh rate.

Is 75 Hz for analog only or simply not available?

I have unchecked 'hide unsupported rates' in the display properties and forced it to 75 but don't think that it is doing anything.

Can anybody with this monitor, or someone else verify that only 60 Hz vertical is supported by the 193P driver at 1280x1024.

I was using a Sony 19" CRT display before and am slightly put off by the noticeable grid of LCDs visible most of the time, especially when viewing black text on a white background.

Mine will do 60 or 70Hz at 1280 x 1024, but not 75Hz. You're probably limited by your video card. Mine is connected to an ATI 9700 pro via DVI. Even though mine can run at 70, I can't see any difference between that and 60.

For those of you with the Samsung 193P, please go into Display Properties, Advanced Settings, Monitor and tell me:

1. Is the SyncMaster 193P listed as your monitor?
2. With Hide modes that this monitor cannot display checked on, what refresh rates show up?

Thanks. I updated from an Asus TI4200-based Nvidia card to a Radeon 9550-based one and now I get the 60 and 70 Hz showing up as options.
