Amazon is currently selling Samson MediaOne 4a and 5a speakers/monitors at a steep discount. Each comes with a pair of speakers with a tweeter and woofer (4" or 5", respectively).

I just picked up the 4a and I really like it. For nearfield listening, it gets plenty loud and at the level I listened they sounded great.This is a pretty excellent package for the price.

These speakers make excellent PC speakers, but they aren't small (not gigantic though).
