Now that every computer case maker in the world has flooded the market (well, at least newegg has a lot) with cheap windowed, fan holed, flashing led'd, CCFL'ed, bling bling cases starting at $30.00, its really starting to get old.
When I hear someone say "build and customize my own computer" it basically ads up to getting a barebone system, getting UV glowing calbes, a CCFL or two (hell, maybe even five), some loud annoying fans, and installing windoze on the whole mess.
At newegg, the cheapest Mid-tower ATX case with some fan holes, was a slightly ricey raidmax. had 6 fan holes, window, brushed aluminum cdrom faceplaces with pexiglass infront of that, and a really sparkly blue paint.
I know im not getting old. I just bought a subwoofer for my car. Old people dont buy subwoofers for their cars.
The most interesting mods that I have seen, have been on mini-itx.
What are some other good modding showcase websites? Maybe its just me, but damn! Everybodys "customized" PC looks exactly the same.
