Sales Tax When Buying Cell Phones From Amazon?

When I buy things from Amazon like computer parts there is never sales tax. Does anyone know if this also applies when purchasing a cell phone? Considering the sales tax is calculated based on the un-subsidized price, the savings, at the time of purchase could be considerable.
