I'm installing a Hitachi 250gb in my new computer for a storage drive. I'm wondering, is it safe to run it off the same plug that's also powering my Raptor 150?

This is with the Silverstone SST-ST60F 600watt one in my signature. It has four rails, so shouldn't it be okay?

BY plug I assume you mean the same chain of molex/sata power adapters?

If so yes it is safe. If you mean swapping between the two....well that would leave on unpowered.......I find that limits performace in my system ;)

Yeah, it's a molex with two connectors. I just wanted to make sure, don't wanna ruin a brand new pwn box :D

shouldnt be an issue especially with only 2 drives on a lead

as far as 4 rails on that supply
both drives would be on the same rail anyways
but they dont require any great amount of amps and wouldnt be overtaxing that lead
assuming its properly constructed (good crimps where the second wire section comes off the first connector)

when I run my own internal RAID arrays I try to limit the number of drives on any given lead to 2 (running 6 drive RAID + IDE channels)
