Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Depends I guess on the switch itself, how hot it actually gets, heat of the room it's in.
I remember having an old 3COM 16 port workgroup hub...the fan bearings started to go, I yanked the fan....she'd run but occasionally seem to lock up once in a while. Not to mention...WOW get hot on the bottom...I was half worried that it's burn up, so stopped using it because of that.
Not a very good idea to disable the fan, it'd be a better idea to replace the fan with a quieter one, unless you want to take the top cover off so it can get rid of heat.
