Safe P4 voltage ?

I would say 1.7v, although I tend to like to keep mine below 1.65.

Mine actually runs at 3.5 with 1.6v.

I remember with NorthWood P4 it was max 1.8v because of the Northwood sudden death syndrome. Why would the P4 800fsb is lower?

To be on the safe side, I would suggest limit the vcore to under 1.7 volts.

the max was never 1.8v...most people keep it at 1.7v or lower, intel says in a documentation about northwood's that 1.75v should be their max.

but i haven't seen a SNDS case in a couple of years and most of those cases were with early p4 northwoods.

me personally, i use whatever voltage will give me the best oc, but still tend to stay under 1.8v - i've used 1.775v before for daily use, but my current p4 tends to oc worse with higher voltage. - 1.6v it's stable if i move the voltage to 1.65v it won't even post which is really odd, and 1.7v+ will boot into windows, but it's not stable -> this is all at 292fsb
