I just turned on the notification feature in HD Sentinel Pro and now I'm getting all these messages about my drives overheating at 43 C or sometimes 50C. I have four Hitachi 7200 drives in a Corsair 800D case, which includes a fan (120 or 140, not sure which) on one side of the cage that holds these drives. Are these temps too high for long-term drive health?

Mid to low 40c is fine generally, 50c+ can start to increase likelihood of failure long term, many suggest <45c for constant temp.

Hard drives are typically rated for up to 60C. High temps might shorten life, but who knows. It's strange that your temps aren't lower if you've got a fan directly blowing on the drives.

that temp should be fine but like mentioned it should be lower if there is a fan blowing over them. nothing else blocking airflow? you could also use hdtune to double check that hd sentinel isnt misreading things.
