I have my 2800 @ 11.5*214 (2461mhz) with 2.1vcore. My temps are 44C idle and 53load , I'm on water so it's keeping the temps down fine. I run prime and everything else with no problems. I was just wondering with that high of a vcore how long should I expect my proc to live?
 
there's no definate way to tell, but it will definately affect how long the cpu lasts. i'd say if u want it to last longer than 3 years, bring down the vcore. what i'm doing is running a 400mhz FSB, with a 1.75v core voltage @ xp 3200 speeds. and it stays pretty stable even with the stock cooler.

Will it last about 2 years though? As long as I can keep the full load temps under 55C maybe?

that is expensive dude, can ya give me ur old parts? :D

And a general rule proably is overclocking = less CPU life, so i guess you can try not 2 overclock 2 the max, even if you have extreme cooling.

I had a 400mhz computer that broke down after 4 years of service without overclock so overclocking 2 the max might last it 4 years? (note that the 400mhz computer is crap, so these new cpus should last longer right?)

I dont think you should worry, most people buy new compuer within 3 years. If not, just get a job and buy one!
 
over 2 volts is risky with anything less than sub zero cooling, and will definitly reduce the milage of your CPU. but, unless your planning on keeping it for 3 more years, then i wouldnt worry. im not saying that it wont zap it the next time you turn it on, because that is a risk your taking, but it should be fine. over 2 volts is definitly dangerous at those temps. the idea is to keep a CPU under 50c load, and all the more at 2+ volts.
