Just a simple question, what is the highest safe limit in temperature to go on a barton2500.

In prime95 under high load my system overclocked to 195MHZ hits a high of 63c. I was wondering if this is unsafe?

But idle my temps are pretty low, high 30's to low40's, it raises to max of 63c during prime95.

So whats safe here? I figure prime95 will always make my CPU run hotter then anything else I throw at it, but should I be running prime95 if its makeing my system run at 63c?

63c is hot most wont want to run that high. but your still within the rated temp or 85c.
my suggestion would be get better cooling on that thing man.

63c is completely safe and nothing to worry about, if you ask me.

I like to keep it below 60, that is my comfort level, but if I needed to, I could adjust my comfort level to 65c.

It just depends on what you're comfortable with. As noted above, most people around here would see 63c and wanna cool it down quite a bit, but it IS within the healthy operating temperature.
