Safe constant wattage for a 550Watt 80+ PSU (Seasonic)

psu are most efficient between 1/2 to 3/4 load. so for your psu between 275-412 watts. i'd invest in a killawatt if you don't have one already, to monitor your wattage use.

Efficiency has nothing to do with it. Seasonic rates their PSUs for continuous (24/7) load. So theoretically (if the PSU does what it's supposed to), 550 watts is the maximum safe wattage for 24/7 use.

I'm currently running it and it is jumping from 350-400 watts on my kill-o-watt meter. I didn't know if that was safe or hard on the PSU...I guess it should be fine from what you guys are saying.

Your actual power draw from the PSU is probably around 300-325 watts.

Pretty much this. You are perfectly safe, teletran.
