Ok, I can be browsing fine for a while with multiple pages no problem. But as soon as I start going into sites with pictures
eek.gif
weather it be pr0n or myspace, after say 10 - 15 pages with pictures safari slows to a crawl. The whole app. Just clicking on a link takes forever (not the internet connection time, but the whole app) I cant even click onto a nother tab, it takes seriously 20 seconds to switch. Its like Im getting bogged down from all the pictures. I can even close the page in question, and leave like that hardforums open, and still be slow until I completly close safari, and restart it . This happend with my iBook too, but I just figured it was the slowness of the computer itself. Now I am thinking safari just sucks in general.

My specs are Core Duo 2Ghz'
2GB RAM
256MB x1600
250GB SATA Drive
OS 10.4.5

I manully run my scrips once a week, and repair permissions once a week, so I dont know whats goin on? The whole computer is fine, even safari is good except when I bog down safari with alot of content. what gives? is my computer still not powerful enouogh? My 3 year old PC dosent even have this issue?

Finally, Activity monitor usually shows me with 1.3GB of Free memory, but 8 - 10 GB of virtual memory. Why so much? Shouldnt it be the other way around?

I might just try and use another browser then.

What is a Great browser for mac? Has to be UB tho so I can use it fast on my intel :)

maybe some stuff just isn't optimized for Safari like it is for IE and Firefox

Problem is the icon folder in your Safari Library folder. Its basically bad trash removal by safari and has been an issue since day one. Throw that folder in the trash and try it again. I regularly dump that folder every three or 4 days or so, maybe I should write a cron job or script or something to delete it automatically.

I just deny myself reading and writing on the damned thing. Website icons are useless anyway, and it saves you from having to delete/empty it.

Are sites like myspace and facebook optimized for IE and Firefox, because like USMC2Hard4U the pictures take forever to load and sometimes dosen't load in Safari.

SO is the thing to do is to just delete all those cookies away????

Myspace + Safari = not play well together. Vids, songs, etc timeout or cause the browser to beachball
