The Friday before last, after many months of happy computing, I see a strange graphical glitch then my system freezes.
I did a system restore and it worked, but the next day it would not boot Windows. I could only boot in safe mode. I couldn't even boot up a 'clean boot'. Virus, no, checked and I know for sure it was not- read on.
I ended up wiping my HD and installing Widows 10, might as well since just a few days left right. The problem persisted and I ended up using the onboard graphics of my MSI Z77A-G43. I could now boot Windows with the Intel onboard graphics but my old Nvidia GTX 465 is seemingly inoperable. Or is it? Since it is an old card, I bought a new one, a XFX Radeon R9 380X.
Put it in and I get no post.
System:
MSI Z77A-G43
i7 2600k
Windows 10
12GB Corsair RAM
256GB Samsung SSD
1 TB HDD
old 500GB Toshiba HDD used for system backup
Corsair 750 W PSU
Now I am thinking is it PSU power degradation? It is many years old but I am guessing and I hate guessing.
