Sacred 2 demo

Is it as gay at the first one? Meaning, teleportation and mounts within 5 minutes of starting it up? The first one was just bad.

Never played the first one.

Never thought of teleportation as gay, either.

Actually US release is November for PC and February 2009 for 360 and PS3.

Yeah there is no way it would be march if the demo is released now. It's no Diablo 3 but it should be decent.

Here it is straight from CDV's very own site, now who are you going to believe
Yeah, you're right. Game publishers NEVER miss their projected release dates, huh? Glad we've got smart guys like you around here to keep things simple for the rest of us.

I'll believe it's released when it ships.

The devs talked at PDXLAN this year and the plan is a november release.

Glad we've got smart guys like you who believe Amazon over what developers claim. :p

The game was suppose to hit shelves on September 30th, so obviously November is a delay.

Oh christ.. At first clicking the WSOCK32.DLL and WINMM.DLL "not found error" popups was okay with me, but now it's gotten out of control and the game doesn't launch anymore.

EDIT: it's fine now.. weird..

Try reading a bit more carefully before posting a comment, next time.

But, you go right on trusting what developers tell you about release dates. I'll go back to playing Alan Wake. I can play it because the developers said it would be released back in 2007... 2008... 2009...

You children have become tiresome.

You know, a nice mug of Ovaltene Hot will clear that right up.

That aside, the after screen after exiting the demo also mentions a November 2008 release. I don't think they'd release a demo so soon if the game was being released in 2009.

Of course things are subject to delay and after a further bit of searching it seems that the EU release is of Nov of this year and the US release is in 2009.

I have to put everything to low on my 7800 for 1920x1200 lol

Hehe mine 2900 pro can play with with no aa , everything else on max settings @ 1920x1200 so far :)
Just needed a bit of more volts in the bios for 780 core speed :D

Wolf your acting like a douche man, calm down.

DL'ing demo now. Thanks OP.

i liked the first one even though it just felt completely random at times lol. there was never really a set path to anything - which is admittedly part of why i liked it i guess...i hope they patch out some gameplay cause even the first version of this game was a blast

Man, where's the barbarian?

All the male character seem like assholes/bad guys, the barbarian was my favorite character f rom the first along with the vampire, which is also not in it seems.

I wish you could choose male/female versions of each class instead of being female/male depending on the class you want.

looks like the barbarian was replaced with an undead guy.

And now we have a robot. lol.

I always wondered why they don't have a powerful male version of the Seraphim. I wanted to have my own archangel owning evil or a male vampire to choose from :(

i am looking forward to this i still have titans quest and the expanision (never finished) thinking about reinstalling them, but sacred 2 looks like an updated version.

I purchased Sacred way back early in its release and found it entertaining but not that great.

After playing Sacred 2's demo for the past forty minutes, I found it to be a lot of fun. Plus, it is very pretty.

Thanks for the head's up! I'm definitely going to download and try it. I loved the original, and am looking forward to Sacred 2. I remember playing Sacred, Spellforce, and Divine Divinity all at the same time and thinking that we were getting to the point where only foreign devs were going to create original and fun games for the PC anymore. :)

The demo's combat felt really solid, and I love the slick presentation... everything is so smooth and polished in the interface. The world also seems a lot more hand-crafted than randomly generated like the first game. Of course, we'll need the full version to tell if the game has the quests and exploration it needs for greatness. I'm hoping it will, though, as this demo bodes well.

I tried the demo and liked it. I was just randomly running around and completing quests, and not even really paying attention to my equipment or skills that much. I saw the two caves, though. The graphics look good, the sound is great, and I like the behavior of the fixed camera (I haven't tried the other modes). I wish I could zoom in on the world map, though. It's easy to get lost, and for the life of me I couldn't find where to return the soldiers I had rescued. They just kept following me around until one of them died, and I failed the quest.

The game crashed to desktop once. My character skills and equipment had been saved, but reappeared at the starting point of the game upon reentry.

I love it when game companies release demos of their products. I can get a preview of the game, and get a good idea whether I want to buy it or not. In the case of King's Bounty: Legend, the answer was no. In the case of Sacred 2, the answer is yes, I will buy it. I think this is a very good game.

Incidentally, the demo exit screen itself says November 2008. Since it was just released, I would take that as the most accurate date for game release.

There are checkpoints that you activate on your travels.

Thought I'd chime back in to say the release date on Amazon has changed from March 31, 2009 to November 11, 2008. Day before my birthday. :D

To those respondents who berated me for not "trusting" the developer's release date, feel free to take your shots.

Hey same b-day as my brother! Small world!

As far as the crash goes, I didn't know about the checkpoints, but I also could have simply saved the game. I saved and exited in the village, and when I restarted the game I was right where I left off. I really wasn't paying attention though, just running around doing as many quests as I could find (and there are quite a lot).

anymore points of view on this game? sounds interesting enough for people who like diablo games.

Why not download it to see for yourself? IMO, the overall gameplay is fun and could entertain me for hours on end, however the skill trees are what won me over. I'm looking forward to customizing my character and exploring the world with some friends in some epic co-op.
