Just got myself a new rig for LAN's and such...Soltek EQ3801-300M sporting an A64 3000+, overclocked it to 2.3ghz out of the box. Using my XT-PE modded X800P in it with a gig of PC4000. Very nice and quiet gaming rig. hopefully by QuakeCon I will have a fast 19" LCD to go along with it. I got tired of lugging my 21" and water cooled midtower around last year....

It is very quiet for normal usage, under heavy loads it does get a bit whiney, but when gaming it is no issue whatsoever.


Now all I have to do is mod it a bit, lexan window, cold cathode, etc. Anyone know any hot setups to cool it more WITHOUT making it louder?
 
any "normal" size hsf should work. keeping it under 80mm tall would be a good idea so you dont block air to the psu. i think even a zalman will fit with some cutting on the drive cage. if youre gonna window it i would recomend mesh or put some vent holes in the lexan especially on the agp side of the case. if you dont already know, a soltek rep frequents the forums over at sfftech . not many other soltek users around here.
 
Thanks Raku for the linky to the SFF forum....I chose the Soltek because it has space for 2 CDR drives, I do DVD creation, editing, tv recording, etc. on this box and needed 2 drives...
