Looking to use this board to rebuild my aging c2d VM box

This board will run with non ECC memory?

Ill Be running 16GB and a e3 1230.

We have a esxi cluster at work...

Currently I have server 2003 on my VM box, what advantage will esxi give me over server 2008 + vmware?

Want to order these parts tonight.
 
I believe it is ECC only ... I have a S5510 & will check next time I do a build with it.
