I've got an s5 and use a Bluetooth headset and also connect it to my truck. On both devices it will occasionally keep the media on the handset and only send calls over the Bluetooth conection. I've checked the settings while it's happening and phone and media are checked. It never did this before about a month ago. Anyone run into this before?

Did you update your phone's software? I dont have a bluetooh headset so I can't speak for the same experience.

Welcome to the world of Bluetooth bs. My new LG g3 sometimes stutters playing Pandora over bt in my car, also the song info data doesn't show in my screen. Worked great on my old s3 though...

Have you tried removing the pairings on your truck and phone exchange then repairing them?

AT&T started releasing an update for the S5 on August 31.
I ended up with it installed on Sep 2 or 3rd.
It forced the download and install.

Not sure what provider you have or even when they may have released an update (if any)

I still use an S2 and I have similar problems (bluetooth will randomly stop working while it's paired to my car stereo). I'm now in the habit of just rebooting my phone before I start the car if I want to play music. I've had CM on my device and haven't updated the image in a long time so maybe it's a software issue.

The Bluetooth on my S2 Skyrocket was a piece of shit.
Randomly disconnect, get stuck turning on or off until I rebooted the device, randomly turn off.
It had to have been a hardware issue.

No such issue with my S5 though.

Oldie, had you happened to use Google Now before media (not phone) stopped working over BT? I've witnessed the same thing happen on my One M8, but it only happened after I used "OK Google" to give a command to Google Now. Then I had to toggle BT on my phone to get it to reconnect properly. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't though. It doesn't always consistently break it on my phone, but every time it does, it's right after using Google Now.
