s3027c Wireless LAN Broken?

My Wireless NIC (WN4300R) built into the s3027c just disappeared tonight. Just bought the unit tonight and worked fine, then in my routine cleanup of old unused programs it required a restart of Vista. Apparently there was a Windows Update pending and after the restart, nothing. The NIC will not even be recognized by device manager. It's like its not in there, really weird, it feels like a hardware problem, but it happened like a driver/windows issue.

Any thoughts out there? I don't want to get too worked up, as it's a cheap fix (with a USB Nic).
