s3 supersavage

how would the s3 supersavage perform in games? i know not nearly as well as any graphics cards out today...but my dad bid on a laptop on ebay with this chip and i want to know if i will be able to game on this at all.

kekeke S3 SuperSavage? I used to have an old Toshiba with that chip.

Good news: it's a discrete chip with dedicated video memory.

Bad news: everything else.

Seriously, it's a 4 year old chip based on a 2 year older design (Savage4): DX6-level features, ~2GB/s maximum bandwidth (if you get a 128-bit SDR or DDR version), it has ONE pipeline (dual texture) @ 125MHz-143MHz and it was never fast even when it was first released.

It will run the original Unreal at 800x600x16 OK with the MeTaL driver path and Q3A at 512x384 with the S3TC version installed.

IOW, it's pretty bad for most games, especially ones that came out this century.
