Ok so my video card supports s-video.. but my question is what can I actually do with this.. if my tv also supports it?.. Anything really special about it?.
 
You can connect your video card to your TV with an S-video cable. An S-video cable is a much better connnection that the standard "yellow" video cable.
 
I mean.. after I do that.. what can i do?.. use it as monitor.. or as a "video" output screen?
 
It has a few uses, but using it as an actual monitor is not one of them (unless you like blurry text). Its good for watching videos, playing emulators, etc.
 
If you hook your computer to a TV through S-video, you can play games on it or watch movies. But, as the previous poster said, it's not for normal computing... text looks like crap on a television.
 
I tried it for a while and games and text look shitty in general, even on an HD ready TV. Movies look good though.
 
If there is nothing on TV I can watch some Seinfeld or Simpsons or whatever on my TV while I surf the web.

That is what i use my TV out stuff for.
