i have a geforce 6800gt and i got an svideo cable to connect it to my tv main purpose is to watch videos on my tv

well i set it up and it works, i can play games and see my desktop and everyhting but when i play a video it only plays on my computer monitor and not my tv.
only quicktime videos work on both.
how can i fix this?

also when i choose a resolution for my comp monitor over 1024x768 my it wont all fit on the tv and i have to move the mouse to access the rest of the screen
i want to have my desktop at 1280x1024 and have my tv at 1024x764 is that possible?

thanks

hmm i guess not since its at 800x600, and when i choose 1024x768 and click apply nothing happens =(

on my tv some of the picture is cut off, not much but it would be cool if i could get to show
anyone knows how?

nevermind i figured it out

it doesn't matter what resolution you have it set at as long as it isn't higher than 1024x768. to get it to play on your tv, you need to set your tv as monitor 1 or the primary monitor. then the video will show up on the tv, but then it won't show on your monitor. as far as i know, you can only have one at a time show video.

Uh, yes it does. 800x600 looks awkward and 1024x768 looks like crap. You know why? Because no matter what the set resolution is the video card is scaling it down to 720x480 because thats the highest resolution you get with svideo because it's 480i. The problem is that the video card doesn't scale too well when it's going to svideo, it's acceptable at best. This is also why the drives limit you to 1024x768 at the highest.

So yeah it does matter what the resolution is.

i was just saying, as far as tv out working, it doesn't matter up to 1024, I wasn't talking optimal here.
