Hi everyone,

Apologies if this has been asked before, but what is the best way to test a panel to determine whether it is S-PVA or not.
I understand that when viewing an S-PVA panel at different angles, there is a shift in color.
What exactly does that mean ? Does the image get darker or lighter ?
Any test images available on the internet ?
Also, is the Purple/Violet tinge when viewing black backgrounds at extreme angles a characteristic of S-IPS panels only.

Thanks

Maximize this browser window and look at the dark grey background behind the text. On an S-PVA, it will be easy to see the center area of your monitor shows the grey a darker shade than the outside edges. If you stare at the dark grey, you will notice the same kind of effect that you get from wearing those cheap red and blue "3-d" glasses, where one eye is seeing a different color than the other in the same spot.
