SMART can offer some really impressive information, and lots of it, but i've only been able to get this info from dos level programs directly from the hard drive maker. I've tried countless programs to try and monitor all my hard drives with minimal success. Most aren't free and they usually just flat out suck anyway. Also most don't work with SATA.

Is there any option for a GOOD freeware program to monitor my hard drives, be it IDE or SATA?

I'd be interested in this too.
I'm affraid I cannot offer any assitance though.

SpeedFan only shows a temp from IDE based hard drives, what about the other data and SATA drives?

Active SMART
but its still just up to 12 IDE drives
SATA and SCSI.....I dont think are supported
it doesnt suck as far as what it does, and Ive trialed it from time to time, but without that support....

let me go look at sourceforge, freshmeat and the world team freeware database

awsome, the lost freeware version works with my raptor and other three hard drives, thank you so much!

make this stick in the forum "Answers" thread, its an excellent program!

actually I sort of made an exception
normally we dont link "lost" freeware ;)

just hint broadly it can be found
