So I've been thinking about getting a 360 early next year, but I have a few problems with the titles I've been seeing. First off, I like my console to have a lot of Japanese titles, platformers, rpgs, arcade games, you know, traditional console-styled games. I have a pretty good PC and can play most of the latest PC games, so I don't want to buy a 360 if the most it has are PC-styled games. I like variety in my gaming, a PC for western-made games and a console for Japanese-made games. I just want to get the most out of my gaming.

Some of the highest rated 360 games I already have on my pc, like Oblivion and Graw. But there are some titles coming out that do peak my interest, (Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Enchanted Arms, Lost Planet, Resident Evil 5, Halo 3, Fable 2) I also know Microsoft is attempting to appeal more to the Japanese market, this is good news for me, but are many of these games going to be released here in the U.S/Europe as well?

I would get a Wii...
but to me it seems like nothing more than an over-clocked gamecube with a cool controller that may be kind of fun for a while. The Nintendo exclusives are always fun, but that's about it.

I would buy a PS3...
But just too damn expensive. And Sony's having a lot of issues lately.

So how's the Xbox360 looking?

Look up these games.. then go buy a 360.

Lost Oddessy
Nintey Nine Nights
Project Slypheed (SquareEnix's 360 exclusive)
Lost Planet
Dead or Alive 4 & Xtreme 2

Then account for all the major Microsoft Game Studios publishings like Halo 3, Gears of War, etc... Also don't count out Rare (which MS now owns), Kameo is probably one of the best 360 games out but is underrated because most platform fans are waiting for the Wii. Viva Pinata is coming and looks amazing, and lets not forget about

I don't want to stretch this out, but the 360's game library is going to be the most diverse this go around.. you can pretty much guarantee that. This holiday you have Gears, Mass Effect, Viva Pinata, Forza 2, Splinter Cell : DA and so many other games coming.. combine that with Xbox Live, Live Marketplace, Live Arcade and passing on the 360 is a gaming mistake if you ask me.

Of course I just love my 360 and love telling people about it. Weight the options, and decide whats best for you. But Japanese support is there, and its growing.

GRAW pc and GRAW 360 play very differently IMO if I were you I'd atleast give it a rent. Also don't discount the Arcade games they are a lot of fun.

At least at this stage, anything worthwhile that hits the Japanese market is going to get localized for the US, too - such as Enchanted Arms and Culdcept Saga. If it ever hits PS2-like popularity, that may change, paradoxically enough.

I'm a happy 360 owner. There are some really good games out for it right now, and more coming in a nice, steady stream. XBLA is fantastic, too.

Well I'm an *unhappy* 360 owner. I bought my shiny new 360 premium on May 2nd, and 89 days later it died with no warning, sitting on a shelf that's open on all sides with loads of airflow in a cool house. Sent it back and received a scratched up, banged-up frekaing *refurb* that began glitching and artifacting within an *hour* of receiving it. It's going back first thing Monday, and if they send me another jacked up system there's going to be a serious problem. A friend of mine had his 360 die last week--out of warranty--and MS wants $130 and a MONTH to repair it.

IMHO, Xbox 360 isn't worth owning right now. Maybe later, when the hardware has matured, but right now it's earned the name Xbox 3-Shitty in my book, and has certainly confirmed to me that first year hardware should be avoided at all costs. MS is effectively putting me through what Sony did with the PoS2 at its launch, and I don't like it.

I'll trust Ninny with Wii--DS has been far and away beyond all expectations, easily my favorite game system. Since Wii also doesn't rape on the price, I'll happily buy a stack of games to go with it. There's no chance I'd touch a PS3, even including the free Betamax 2 player that every system ships with.

I'd guess that 360 will be worth owning in about a year or so. Wii will probably be worth it immediately, and PS3 never will.

I've lost my interest in Enchanted Arms after the new trailler released...
seriously, it was fun, but.... crap...

But basically if you already stated that you don't like nintendo's style,
and if you can't afford a Ps3... then you have no other choice man...

I still think that with the wii we'll get to see more support from other developers, and to sum it up all plataforms will have good games, but I still don't see the x360 fitting your description as the ideal console for your needs...
