They are averaging about $270 now which is about $20 more than the launch MSRP, and there appears to be a ton in stock at new egg.

Can someone explain that to me?

MSRP isn't a fixed price set in stone. There is a reason why its called a suggested price. It can both be below and above it.

MSRP=Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.

Newegg is owned by China now. That's why. AMD and China are abusing the American people.

$239 for OC XFX after rebate. I see prices lower than $270 for many of them

XFX Radeon RS RX 480 DirectX 12 RX-480P836BM 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card-Newegg.com

Now if these XFX all behave like JZ tested version that would an outstanding deal. Also the above Rx 480 come with a $20 off BF 1 coupon.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Still the RX 480 8gb version can be found for less than $250, just have to shop a little or wait for good deals is all. Same with Nvidia card, almost picked up a 2nd 1070 G1 for $389 but didn't. Good deals happen all the time is the jest.

And this is why I'm glad my old arse plays World of Tanks and Warships. All settings maxed and even squeezing in a little VSR love on this old as dirt card with only 2 GB RAM lol They're going to have to give me a monetary reason to upgrade to something better unless a new game rolls out that I just have to have (been over a decade since that happened).

If you read the newegg reviews people are also mentioning they are running cooler and lower power than the reference. I bet XFX is undervolting.. which is smart.

If you ever get a nVidia card you can force MSAA+SGSSAA and WoWs looks amazing. The main reason I won't ever buy AMD again unless they add a similar ability. Any sort of decent VSR/DSR and you can't read the text (so WoWs adding GUI scaling would be acceptable as well.)

We also have a WoWs thread in the PC gaming subforum. World of Warships Enters Open Beta!

That's actually good to know for future reference. I've been using Reshade up to this point to work around some of the limits in quality but it requires a lot more tweaking to get any benefits.

You wouldn't wanna get the gtr from newegg unless you had to. Get it from jet, get free shipping and if you get tricky, do it on a new acct, skip the frills you can get it down to $275, and drop it further $250 to $265 ish depending on what coupon you can get to work. I was tempted to go this route. I don't need a rx480 but I want one dammit lol.

Or you can get a ref card from Amazon. They are taking pre-orders for the Diamond at 239 which has an eta of oct 20.

Same here man. Still rocking a 4GB GTX670. It might not run the new AAA stuff at 1080p/60fps but it's still passable at 45ish fps (was getting 45-50 in BF1 beta) and it's perfect for 1080p/144 for the stuff that I'm actually putting my time into; LoL, Paladins, HOTS, etc.

The card had been louder than I remembered recently so I took it apart over the weekend and cleaned every bit of it with an old toothbrush and alcohol. Put it back together and now the fan runs a good 30-40% slower at the same load temps so it's damn near silent. It's glorious.

Newegg has the 4GB MSI RX480 on sale right now. Down from $240 to $200 with a $20 MIR brings the final price to $180 with free shipping. Hard to beat that kind of pricing.

Yeah that's must be it. That's why the cheapest 480 I could find here in the EU right now goes for $290

You're right. The American people AND the EU. We're in this fight together!

No we are not. The cheapest RX 480 8GB in the EU with VAT is 240€. Sapphire 21260-00-20G. The second cheapest after that is 255€. The most expensive is 300€. Again, all prices with VAT.

The GTX 1060 6GB for a compare, is in the 255-310€ range.

Yep. I just picked up an 8GB PowerColor Red Devil 1330 MHz for $215 after rebate a few days ago. If you don't like the current pricing, just keep watching and waiting and eventually you will find a deal that fits your budget. That's what I did. I don't believe in over-spending just because I can afford to.
