I have no idea if this is old news or not....But it kind of shocked me. (no idea if this is a repost or not as well)

Russian's have supposedly used the source code and compiled a Russian version of HL2  Something along that line.

This another hoax or do you think this is a real deal ?:(

it got leaked again and they are making money out of it this time instead of just distributing it online.

Doesn't surprise me too much... there were copies of the beta of Windows XP for sale all over Asia for months before the production version came out.

I wouldn't count on any kind of support if a customer bought that copy of HL2 in Russia, though...

Yes I am not proud of it, but when I was in Russia visiting family, I went to this place and it had everything. Every game, every cd, dvd, you want it, it has it, for $1-$5. English Version

But thats Asia/Europe and this is America.

windows xp service pack 2 is already floating around out there as well...has been for a few weeks...

I remember when "The Matrix 2" was for sale in Russia. It was the summer of 2000. If I remember correctly it was some SciFi Channel level B-movie that they re-dubbed with the Matrix names.

Longhorn supposedly has been out and is being readily distributed as well. :(

No, the Longhorn stuff out now are alpha builds. It's not a leak so much as people with MSDN licenses making it available for others to download; Microsoft regularly (sorta) releases alpha builds of its stuff for MSDN users to test out and give feedback on. The XP stuff that was in Asia was pretty much the final version, minus a change or two.

Longhorn isn't even going to be finished for another year or two, so it's impossible to leak yet.

I have no direct experience with Russia, but I have lived in Ukraine for a few months. You can walk down the streets and see little kiosks and shops where they sell EVERYTHING. You can buy any computer program or game for as little as $2-$3 US.

While I was there on my last trip I bought Blue Shift two weeks before it came out on the american market. You can do that for movies over there! I saw Episode I on tape in a shop during the first month it was released in that country!

But from what I hear, this is VERY short on content. Many of the levels and textures aren't complete and it still has bugs galore. Expect it to be in the late Alpha/early Beta stage.
