I'm wiring up a home theater this weekend. I know about not running speaker wire in parallel or near AC wiring.. but what about network cabling? Is it OK to run network cables alongside speaker wires or should the speaker wires just be by themselves? Can network cables be run with AC wiring or should all three be separate?

Thanks!

Personally, if possible, I'd seperate all 3...... I know power and CAT5/e/6 don't get along... I think the spec says they can cross perpendicular, but a minimum of 6 inches clearance for parallel runs.... (of course, I could be wrong)... I'd say speaker wires wouldn't be quite as bad as AC, but to be safe.... seperate

keep everything away from AC, but as mentioned occasional perpendicular crossings are ok. your speaker wires and cat5 shouldn't interfere with each other but dont wrap em around each other or anything

60Hz AC intereferes with damn near everything for some reason
