Ok I have what i'm sure is a dumb question about running pumps in series. I understand how running pumps in series works.

Res>pump1>pump2>rest of the loop.

But my question is about running them in series using a dual bay res like the koolance 402x2 or the XSPC dual ddc. With a res like the 2 above, Wouldnt it be Res1>pump1>Res2>Pump2>rest of the loop? Does it not matter that the Res is in between? I don't think you can bypass the res on either model so does one res just stay filled under pressure from pump1, then that res feeds into pump2?

If you keep res2 properly sealed, then yes, it'll stay under pressure.

If you havent bought the tops, they make a dual pump top. Though you can always couple them with a standard fitting.

Most bay reservoirs with dual pump capabilities are designed for dual loops. They're not designed for running pumps in series.

Would you think its ok to use the XSPC dual bay res in series if the res was properly sealed?

koolance seems to have 3 different bay reservoirs that allow serial pumps. They use some kind of U shaped pipe fitting to link the in of pump 2 to the out of pump 1.
