At my office I am running my notebook for 6-8 hrs straight. Will it break down faster than a desk top? I am running a P4. Any help would be appricated.
Thanks,
G

over an extended period probably. if your not gonna ever move it though just unplug the battery and run on ac

Well, I don't know what you mean by over extended but I am planing on running it between six and eight hours during my work week and also using it at home. I guess to better explain my question is will it be better to turn off the notebook when not in use or leave it on. During my eight hour work day I use it maybe 4 or more times and at home I use it on and off the whole night. Will it be better to turn it off when not in use or will continued on and off switching effect my computer in a bad way?
Thanks,
G
