Running Leds and SB Live mod

I was hunting around and I was having a little trouble finding someplace that has how to's on making "running" light leds for my case. Its kind of a knight rider effect I want to run up and down the front face of the case, I would kinda like to have the speed adjusted by the fans speeds that are thermaly controled.

The second thing was a LONG time ago I ran across a mod to the SB Live that added a head phone jack that would cut out the speakers if you pluged in headphones, Would anyone happen to know of this mod or a link to its instructions ?
