Is it ok to leave your laptop running 24/7 ? Will it get too hot? This is my first laptop and it seems like even my desk gets hot around the laptop.
 
It'll be fine. Sure, it'll still be warm but think of it this way, its much hotter when you're actually using it than when its just sitting.

unless he has good cooling he can leave it on
and the harddrive will die
and they are expenise'
i canr leave my shit for more den 5 hours
 
Mine gets hot also but it still runs fine.
It is an old IBM A20m.

Jordan how hot does it get around your desk?
Are the air vents blocked when you have it on your desk?
Is the fan working?




But worst case scenario if you are really worried about it then whenever you are done using the laptop you should just put it to sleep, or you could by a laptop cooler.

Should be fine as long as it has sufficent cooling and its not overclocked or anything.
 
Mine is folding and it runs almost 24x7... Might as well work the bugger hard while it is under warranty.
 
It should be fine, after all, the desk is getting hot, not the processor which is exactly what we want, right? Thats why we have fans and stuff. The area around the lappy is what we want hot instead of inside the lappy. I've left mine on overnight and it didn't anything, but I have a Pentium-M, so it doesnt use as much power...
