I overclocked my Core i7 920 conservately to 3.0Ghz. Left all voltages to Auto. I have an Antec 1200 full tower with a Coolermaster V8 cooler. Under load my CPU core temps get as high as 75C. My CPU temp is 60C and my VRM goes to 75C. This seems high to me. Are these safe temps?
 
Take the CPU voltage off of auto and adjust it manually or actually, just leave it at the default voltage. If you overclock and leave it on auto, it increases this voltage and it increases it WAY too high.
 
yeah the 920 should be able to do 3ghz no problem on the stock voltages..
 
Caniba is right, ive emailed manya forums and intel about these hot tempretures. And even they say 70C are within the safe threshold. Think about optimizing your airflow and possibly looking into more efficient cooling solutions if your still concerned.
