Anyone do this weird practice?
Most games will run when not reinstalled after a new OS reinstallation, there's just less registry clutter and uninstall files all over the hard drive. Some games will complain or lose some abilities, most seem to run perfectly fine some only asking to re-enter their cd key then working fine thereafter.
EA games usually are the ones that don't like it, they are less than self contained to their native directory and like to put stuff in program files and the windows directory.
id software games could care less the most, they'll run uninstalled, no matter where you put them, I should put quake on a flash card and see if it runs.
And I seem to have put this in the wrong forum... It's that thread "What Game bundles come with 6800GT?"'s fault. really, it was. *hides*
