Running Fraps @ 2560x1600?

Hello, I have a nice system with an E6600, SLI 8800GTXs, and a 30" monitor which runs at 2560x1600. I tried capturing WoW at this resolution, but it makes the game run horribly (around 18fps) It also will not let me record in "Half Size" mode, the video comes out blank, so I have to record on full size, which like I said, runs terribly. Any way to fix this?

I have the same issue while frapsing a boss fight. i run @ 1920x1200 and i lose alot of frame rate. i think one reason its such a hit on performance is that you are writing a HUGE file to your harddrive while at the same time trying to seek and buffer a game. maybe if the video was being written on a different harddrive you wouldnt lose much performance. if someone has tried this plz post some results. i am very interested in how to make fraps run better.
