So I want to mess with my fans and see which ones are louder and what not but I wan't to be able to do this with out powering up the CPU, becuase I'll be disconnecting this one too. Is there any way to get just the 12V power to run through the system.

One time on the PSU I accidently changed it to the Euro standard and only the fans ran but anyone know if this powers the rest of the system.

you can un plug all wires that dont go to fans.

take the motherboard connector and cross the green wire with one of the black wires. make sure that it is unplugged if you are messing with this little hack.

If you can run your fans straight from your PSU then you can unplug your psu from your mobo and run a jumper from pins 4 to 6 on your 20 pin molex plug. When looking at your plug with the tab on top, counting from the top row, left to right. Then just hit the power button as usual. This is how a lot of people who watercool their rigs prime their systems.

Hehe, hopefully that's clear enough.

sorry if mine wasnt clear enough, but we're talking about the same thing. mine works unless you're colorblind ;)

not every power supply follows color coding standards

In which case colorblindness might actually lead you down the right path.

There's a positive side to everything.

Setting the PSU to EURO is NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!

Try finding an AT PSU laying around at home or at your local PC shop. They should have some they are willing to give you for free. Those have an ON/OFF switch.
