running cpu on low voltage

Please excuse my noobness as I ask these following questions. Is it bad to run the Q6600 at Stock speeds with 1.1125 Volts? I've tested it on Orthos for about 2 Hours then had to use it for Gaming =P. Running the CPU on low volts is fine as long as it's stable correct? Also if I wanted to OC to 3.0 ghz. All I would have to do is change the 1066 to 1333, leave the voltage @ 1.25 volt and disable all the cpu thermal control, cie halt state, speedstep, etc right? Also would this significantly shorten the lifespan of my processor? I'll probably use it for 3 to 4 years. Btw I switched my B3 for this new G0 stepping and my 3dmark scores went from 11430 to 12020. That's AWESOMEEEEEE

Thanks

Andrew

First question: Yes, absolutely no problem. Lower the volts as much as you want until stability becomes an issue for you.

Second question: Assuming you can get it stable at 3.0ghz at that voltage, yes. Don't be suprised if you have to bump the voltage some - even with the G0 stepping.

your cpu will run cooler and last longer, it is using the headroom people use for over clocking, but in the opposite direction.
