Running a Gamecube on a 2001FP?

I was wondering if anyone else has used a Dell 2001FP with a Gamecube, and if so, what results you were able to get with it. I recently acquired one second-hand, which came with what now appears to be a third-party combination Composite/S-video cable. When I use the S-video input, I find that the whole screen has a sort of "checkerboard" effect which results in a lot of flicker and is generally distracting. This doesn't happen on the composite input, but that one seems to have a bit of display corruption itself. I've never seen anything of the sort when using my XBox on the S-video input, and the display on that is nice and clear.

Right now, my suspicion is that the problem is probably related to the cable, but I'm curious if anyone else here has used a cube on their 2001FP.
 
Dont know about the 2001FP, but I have the inputs on my HP L2335 and the gamecube works fine...
