In vista64, is there anyway of having certain programs always run under administrator. I have to run Battlefield2 under administrator otherwise in the game I get kicked off of some servers with the dreaded comfail 132 error. Or when my computer first logs on to desktop rivatuner kicks in my UAC, and everything comes to a stop until i give permission. I'm sure their must be a way of doing it, I just haven't figured it out yet, its probably staring me in the face. Their must be an easier way then right mousing.

Right Click on the Shortcut -> Properties. Compatibility Tab -> "Run this program as Administrator"

Same answer I would have given, but I am still trying to figure out why this checkbox is disabled on some shortcuts.

If you can't do it from the shortcut, find the actual .exe file and do it from there, from that point on any shortcuts will inherit the property to "Run as Administrator." As for why some shortcuts don't allow it, I think it's related to where the shortcut file is located on the drive, in what folder, etc. Just a quirk of Vista I suppose, and easily remedied by finding the actual .exe and doing from that file itself.

Thanks guys or gals, I knew it was staring me in the face. When I'm dealing with computers running different OS my brain gets scrambled, whats funny is that things I did years ago to fix a problem such as win98 or 95 seems like yesterday, again probably has to do with repetition of a problem where as xp is so much more stable, explains why I jumped to NT4 when it came out.

I've noticed this doesn't always work though. Some applications I had to still right click, run as admin, to get to function (Everquest).

The point isn't to not have UAC kick in (that should always happen whenever a system change is made no matter what), the point is to be able to double-click not right click->run as administrator.
